At the 78th Locarno Film Festival, scheduled from 6 to 16 August 2025, three films supported by TorinoFilmLab, a hub&lab of international talents capable of intercepting new audiovisual languages and themes, will make their world premiere debut.
This year's edition welcomes 2 feature films developed by TFL into the International Competition: “Donkey Days”, the second work by Rosanne Pel (Netherlands), who took part in ScriptLab 2020, shaping the screenplay; and “White Snail” by Elsa Kremser (Austria) and Levin Peter (Germany), who participated in the FeatureLab program in 2021. Out of competition, another TFL film: “The Birthday Party” by Miguel Ángel Jiménez, an important production with Willem Dafoe that was the subject of intense work during the Green Film Lab workshop held in Athens in 2024 to make its set more eco-friendly.
The rich program also includes the new films of four directors whose careers have benefited from the high-level training of the TFL, which supported them at the beginning of their authorial journey.
The International Competition will be the stage for the new film by Hana Jušić, who worked with the TFL on her debut “Quit Starring at My Plate”, and now presents her second film “God Will Not Help” in Locarno.

Out of Competition, we find the new title by Mehdi Hmili (participant of Interchange 2012 with the title “Thala My Love”).
