Industry Screenings are back for the 8th edition of TFI Torino Film Industry from November 20 to 25, 2025, with six evenings dedicated to short films organized by Film Commission Torino Piemonte – Production Days, Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo – onLive Campus, and Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio – ShorTO Film Market at Cinema Lux in Torino.
Focus on short films for TFI Torino Film Industry 8: six evenings at Cinema Lux featuring new talents, experimentation and Italian and international successes.
From 2023, TFI Torino Film Industry offer Industry Screenings, evening events organized by partner organizations and held in a city cinema. The six evenings of TFI8 are curated and organized by Film Commission Torino Piemonte – Production Days, Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo – onLive Campus and ShorTO Film Market: priority access for accredited people, also free admission for the general public upon registration.
For the 8th edition of TFI Torino Film Industry, the Industry Screenings are being held at the Cinema Lux in Torino in collaboration with AGIS Piemonte and Valle D'Aosta, and offers a focus on short films. The unreleased program of titles that make up the lineup is in fact a showcase of short film formats, including recent successes and the latest national and international works, confirming the nature of the short film as an art form with its own specific identity, and at the same time as a fundamental experience for young authors and independent productions, who find in the “short film” a first access to the world of cinema and the dynamics of the set, and an area of freedom and experimentation fundamental for developing and testing new narrative and production formulas.
The Film Commission Torino Piemonte showcase opens on Thursday, November 20, with “A Short Evening with Film Commission Torino Piemonte,” a selection of short films supported by Film Commission Torino Piemonte, winners of numerous national and international awards, which also share the common feature of being “prototypes” in a development process towards a debut feature film with the support of the Piemonte Film TV Development Fund, the development fund set up by Film Commission Torino Piemonte with Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Regione Piemonte.
In particular, “Dark Globe”, opening the 39th SIC Venice, is part of Donato Sansone's journey towards “Donnyland” (MyBossWas); Matteo Tortone's “Domenica sera”, closing the 39th SIC and winner of the David di Donatello award, is part of the road towards “Inverno” (Malfè Film). Fabio Bobbio's “Restare”, opening the 40th SIC, is part of the development of “I fuochi” (Ginko Film); and Alessandro Rota's “Larvae” is being reworked for its long version (Making Movies & Events). On Friday, November 21, is the turn of onLive by Fondazione Piemonte Dal Vivo, which is once again offering a “Dancing Screens” evening, celebrating the love between dance and cinema that continues to reinvent itself. A poetic and powerful language that combines emotion and storytelling through the moving body. COORPI presents the world premiere of Alla Kovgan's “Grape Maestro” (2025), filmed in Canelli (AT). The screening will be accompanied by the director, co-producer Enrica Viola (Una Film) and screenwriter Alberto Danelli. ITA/ENG event, produced with funds from the Chiesa Valdese’s Otto per Mille. For this edition, Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo has also curated a selection of short films lasting about one minute - clearly titled “La danza in un minuto” - which will be screened at the beginning of each of the 6 evenings.
It is Livir (Living) directed by Cesar Diaz Melendez, Bold directed by Alla Kovgan and Miko Malkhasyan, Go On directed by Majid Asghari, 1,2 and their cigs (3,4) directed by Laura Carnevali, Su Misura directed by Augenblick, and Le stanze della follia directed by Gianpaolo Bigoli.
On Saturday, November 22, in collaboration with Film Commission Torino Piemonte, “Enigma Residente: tre corti d’esordio di giovani promesse” will be presented: between spring and autumn 2025, the Associazione Museo Nazionale del Cinema (AMNC) has curated the Enigma Residente formative course supported by the Per Chi Crea edizione 2024 call for applications, promoted by Ministero della Cultura and SIAE. The project has seen the participation of over seventy young professionals who made three short films thanks to the co-production with Notte Americana and the support of Film Commission Torino Piemonte, now presented in their rough cut versions.
The evenings of Sunday 23, Monday 24, and Tuesday 25 November are organized by the Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio – ShorTO Film Market. This is in particularly the “Anteprima ShorTO Film Market: SIC@SIC Short Italian Cinema@Settimana Internazionale della Critica”, an event that continues the collaboration with the Venice International Critic’s Week to promote Italian short films by offering a public screening of the titles in competition at the 10th edition of SIC@SIC (Short Italian Cinema @ International Critic's Week).
It continues with “Focus Lithuania: Cinematic Connections”, a selection dedicated to Lithuanian cinema and its ever-growing international visibility, showcasing bold narratives and distinctive artistic voices. The Lithuanian Short Film Agency presents a selection of recent short films that capture the essence of the country's contemporary cinema, exploring different forms of connection to reveal a vibrant portrait of today's Lithuania, where personal and collective stories come together in a shared cinematic language of emotion and reflection. The Country in Focus is co-curated with Lithuanian Shorts, supported by the Lithuanian Film Center, and is part of the Lithuanian Culture in Italy 2025–2026 program, organized by the Lithuanian Culture Institute and Ambasciata della Repubblica di Lituania nella Repubblica Italiana.
Lastly, for the last evening of TFI Torino Film Industry “ShorTO Film Market presenta: Powers of 10” will be screened: on the occasion of the 10th edition of the ShorTO Film Market, the Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio is offering a special screening dedicated to some of the projects that have been presented at the market in previous years. A unique opportunity to rediscover works that, after being presented and pitched at the market, have become reality, witnessing the creative journey and success of emerging talents.
Access to the screenings is primarily reserved for TFI Torino Film Industry accredited people, upon completion of the various activities scheduled during the day at the Circolo dei lettori e delle lettrici di Torino.
