TFI Torino Film Industry: the 8th edition returns from November 20 to 25, 2025

TFI Torino Film Industry: the 8th edition returns from November 20 to 25, 2025, in conjunction and collaboration with the 43rd edition of the Torino Film Festival.

The network of partners is growing, Industry Screenings are back, and the new TFI Immersive section is opening.

Officina, Market, Meetings for development, international co-production, promotion of new talent and new trends in contemporary cinema and audiovisual media, TFI Torino Film Industry takes place as always during and in collaboration with the Torino Film Festival of Museo Nazionale del Cinema, presenting itself as the work & business soul of the city's historic film event.

Created in 2018 with the aim of promoting the potential of the Torino-Piemonte cinema system, TFI Torino Film Industry has consolidated and evolved year after year, reaching its 8th edition with an open structure that aims to offer national and international professionals a cross-cutting program of events dedicated to the entire audiovisual industry.

Promoted by Regione Piemonte and Città di Torino and organized with the support of the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Camera di Commercio di Torino, TFI Torino Film Industry kicks off on Thursday, November 20, 2025, and continues until Tuesday, November 25, with pitching sessions, panels, workshops, and one-to-one meetings taking place at the historic headquarters of the Circolo dei lettori e delle lettrici di Torino.

The partners behind the TFI8 program are Film Commission Torino Piemonte, which has coordinated the event since its inception and is responsible for the Production Days program, the Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio, which is offering a new edition of ShorTO Film Market, the Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, which is responsible for the onLive Campus events, and, starting this year, AGIS Piemonte e Valle D'Aosta, which is strengthening its presence after participating in previous editions.

Once again, the collaboration with the Museo Nazionale del Cinema is confirmed as a content partner, through the presence at TFI8 of the Cinemambiente Festival, Lovers Film Festival, and TorinoFilmLab. The collaboration with Contemporanea Film Festival, Glocal Film Festival, Sotto18 Film Festival is also expanding, with Seeyousound joining this edition.

Professions on set, training and education for young professionals, the culture of accessibility, environmental responsibility and sustainability, project development and international co-production, the short film market, LGBTQIA+ cinema and audiovisual media, the relationship between live entertainment and new technologies, and the impact of artificial intelligence and new digital technologies on the production of moving images are just some of the topics and insights at the heart of the 8th edition, which is increasingly structured, comprehensive, and capable of meeting the needs of a vast and diverse target audience of professionals.

Taking place halfway through Torino’s long month of cinema, the eighth edition of TFI is effectively with an “extended” dimension, offering additional events before and after the official dates, combining its know-how with three additional events organized by Film Commission Torino Piemonte: on November 8 - as part of the Contemporanea Festival, with the panel “Professioniste dell’audiovisivo: un’istantanea Contemporanea”, aiming to analyze gender balance and inclusion in the audiovisual sector; on November 15, as part of the Glocal Film Festival, with " Piemonte a tutto cinema: un’istantanea Glocal", an opportunity to explore the consolidated and identity-defining link between the audiovisual sector and Piedmont, through the voices of those who contribute to consolidating it through their work; and finally, during the Sottodiciotto Film Festival, with a focus on the 18 years of the Piemonte Doc Film Fund, the first fund in Italy to support cinema verité.

Film Commission Torino Piemonte – which has coordinated TFI since its first edition – again is organizing and promoting the Production Days for this 8th edition, a co-production meeting that welcomes decision makers and international audiovisual professionals with the aim of placing Piedmontese workers and companies at the center of the production ecosystem and, at the same time, involving beginners in the sector who have just approached the world of cinema and its industry through targeted workshops.

“In keeping with tradition, the 2025 edition of Production Days returns as a showcase and key moment for presenting FCTP's flagship projects—such as the opening day dedicated to the cinema and the pitch session for projects from the Development Call for Proposals, created with the support of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo—while also offering numerous new features, confirming the program's distinctive role as a workshop and laboratory for experimentation. Paolo Manera, Director of Film Commission Torino Piemonte, comments: “Starting with the brand new Clinic, which will be held behind closed doors the day before the opening, through to the presentation of the new Match Piemonte Award together with the Piedmont Region and Circolo dei lettori, and the new TFI Immersive section dedicated to audiovisual practices that are expanding languages and aesthetics beyond the boundaries of the cinema screen.”

Piemonte dal Vivo - onLive Campus

Following the publication of the White Paper on live digital entertainment in Italy, Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo's onLive Campus presents a series of panels at TFI dedicated to pressing current issues: on November 20, we enter Verse, a city of arts in the Metaverse, developed together with eight partners in culture and entertainment through a project funded by the European Union as part of NextGenerationEU. On November 22, cinematic language and artistic experimentation come together in so-called art films: but how are they made and what are the most effective production and distribution channels for these hybrid products today? Also on the 22nd: how is technology transforming the artistic experience in an accessible and sustainable way? Finally, on November 24, in collaboration with Itaca Digitale and DigiTo Cultura, the theme of the use of artificial intelligence, a new player on the contemporary creative and cognitive scene, will be addressed.

Director Matteo Negrin states: “By bringing together the arts sector, institutions, policy makers, businesses, and academia, the Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo's onLive project chooses to tackle the challenges posed by the performing arts of tomorrow through the use of new technologies.”

Unione Interregionale A.G.I.S. of Piemonte and Valle d'Aosta

Thanks to ANEC and ACEC, AGIS constitutes the largest cinema circuit in the Piedmont region, with over 200 screens. It shines a light on innovative management models through the recounting of particularly significant experiences at the national level, such as the Il Regno del Cinema circuit, Beltrade in Milan, IMG Cinema in Mestre and empowerment and networking projects such as LED – Leader Esercenti Donne.

It is extremely significant for us - says Marta Valsania, Secretary General of Agis Piemonte Valle d'Aosta - that the opening of the eighth edition of TFI, an event that aims to promote the cinematic potential of our region, has a focus on movie theaters. This focus demonstrates, once again, how this is a fundamental link in the audiovisual chain. It is thanks to events such as TFI that we are reminded of the role that cinemas have played and continue to play, both as businesses and as places of culture, socialization, gathering, and sharing."
