TFI Torino Film Industry kicked off in November 2018 during the 36th edition of the Torino Film Festival, as the result of a collaboration between Film Commission Torino Piemonte, Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio (organizing institution of the Torino Short Film Market), and TorinoFilmLab, an international laboratory for authors and emerging professionals promoted by Museo Nazionale del Cinema.
The schedule of activities offered to national and international audiovisual professionals - held at the prestigious headquarters of the Circolo dei lettori in Turin - have always networked the Torino Short Film Market, masterclasses and events proposed by TorinoFilmLab, and the Production Days – daily events of in-depth study and comparison on independent cinema, international co-productions, and new challenges of digital distribution organized by FCTP, whose primary aim is to contribute to the professionalization and internationalization of Piedmontese producers and filmmakers. The event increasingly involves all professionals of cinema and audiovisual, always with particular attention to new talents and new cinema, shorts, documentaries, first and second works, and the most innovative TV series.
In 2019, TFI Torino Film Industry returned with excellent results (800 accreditations, a 100% increase as compared to the precedent year, and 500 one-to-one meetings during the five days of the event) and in 2020 it organizes a fully online third edition with a great following.
Ever since the first edition, TFI has been able to rely on the collaboration of both the Torino Film Festival and the National Museum of Cinema, together with the crucial support guaranteed by the Compagnia di San Paolo. Among the supporting partners, we mention Regione Piemonte and Città di Torino, which have strongly believed in and encouraged the growth of such an event capable of enhancing the synergies and collaborations of the local cinema system.
